SUMMER CAMP DETAILS We are pleased to announce that Young Set Club summer camp will continue to serve families in and around the Conejo Valley. Our new location will be at Conejo Adventist Elementary School (CAES), 1250 Academy Drive, Newbury Park. CAES is just off the 101, about 4 miles west of the original Young Set property. We will also be featuring the swimming pool and gymnasium at Newbury Park Academy just a short hike down from CAES also on Academy Drive. Simple Machines Extravaganza - NESS
Use STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) to explore the important and fun Simple Machines. Apply all 6 types of simple machines in experiments with ramps, catapults, pulleys, and contraptions. Make hands on connections to what types of simple machines are found in our everyday lives. 860-535-9362
Ceramics 3 - RAKU! Ceramic Intensive - Artists Exchange
For two weeks, your child will be immersed in the world of clay. Campers will learn everything from prehistoric clay working methods, to the modern work of artistic ceramics, and everything in between. The first week is devoted to developing skills using the pottery wheel, sculpting by hand, as well as learning technical aspects of clay including where it comes from, how its used, how its recycled and turned into a finished piece. During the second week, campers will explore different glazing and firing processes including everything that goes into building, loading and firing a traditional Japanese Raku kiln. Safety precautions will be set in place so campers can have a blazingly amazing time! *This is a 9 day camp. Artists Exchange is closed Monday in observance of Independence Day. 401-490-9475
