Join us as we take art to Tracy Aviary. We will meet on location and will set-up our drawing boards to sketch the birds and their habitats. We will use several mediums including: pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, markers, and ink. This is a great time to learn new art techniques while spending time outdoors and seeing some amazing creatures. We will provide all the supplies as well as a VAI t-shirt for all students. Our material packs include a wide range of bricks and special elements in various shapes, sizes, and colors that are ideal for stimulating childrens creative and imaginative skills. Camp counselors will introduce tasks each day in building vehicles, planes, buildings, towns and transportation systems as we work in groups to build a LEGO city! Campers receive lots of suggestions for ideas but are encouraged to use their own creativity and imagination. Stories and games are also incorporated into this camp, perfect for our youngest little campers, ages 4 and 5. Our pre-k camps have pre and post camp options available as well! SC2016: Life Under a Rock Week - Sanibel Flagship Campus
Oh the things that live under rocks! If you only knew what cool creatures are under there, youd never snorkel in more than a foot of water again! Well spend a week turning over rocks to see what teeny-tiny creatures we can find living in the ocean. Marine worms, tiny crabs, tiny crustaceans and nudibranchs and all kinds of algae. Well bring some rocks to our tanks to watch more closely. Well leave no rock unturned. And since were talking about the highly prized wave zone (in wavier places), well crash around in our own splash zone and compete for space to imagine where a limpet or barnacle is supposed to go when all the rocks are full.
