Rise Up Florida with Lost & Found High School Youth Event
Rise Up Florida High School Retreat November 6-8, 2015 Word of Life Retreat Center Hudson, Florida Join us as we welcome the band Lost & Found to join us for Rise Up Florida as one of their last stops on their farewell tour. This event is for both those who attended the Gathering and for those who were not able to attend. It will equip and re-ignite those who were at the Gathering to "bring the Gathering home" and to provide a feel of the Gathering to those who were not able to be there. Utilizing some of the resources, video and music from the Gathering and adding in some of our own, we will encourage youth to examine their story and the story of their community and congregation and to explore how God might be calling them to tell His story and affect change where they see injustice. Fall Softball Camp - Linton Youth League Sports Complex
We are pleased to announce a one day Fall Softball Camp open to players from 5 years of age to 8th grade. The camp will be held at the Linton Youth Complex on Saturday September 5th. This camp will be conducted by The Indiana Tribe coaches and staff and is open to everyone regardless of skill level and where a player lives. Players will be divided into age groups and we will focus on fundamental softball skills, game knowledge, and we will have fun doing it. Cost is $10/player and will include a lunch of a hot dog, chips and a drink. Players will be divided up in the afternoon for games and skills competitions. Camp times are from 9am-3pm. A separate instructional pitching time will be available from 4-6pm. Cost for the pitching clinic will be $5/player if you attended the camp or $10/player if the player is only attending the pitching clinic. We will focus on beginning pitching mechanics and drills. Ages 7 years to 8th grade are welcome. Spa Day is an annual event at YoungLives Camp for Teen Moms and Babies. For many of these girls, this will be the first time they are cared for in this manner, and we need a lot of help to make it happen! Volunteers are needed from 10:30-2:30 & lunch will be provided. No experience necessary. 23rd Annual Teen World Bible Camp - Clinton, PA
Teen World MInistries will be holding its 23rd Annual Bible Camp the week of June 5-11, 2016 at Promise Camp & Retreat Center in Clinton, PA. Our camp theme for the week is "Jesus Christ: Born, Crucified, Risen!" with Luke 24:45-47 being our theme verses. We will be memorizing and studying the Book of Luke (ESV 2011 Text) chapters 2:1-38, 23:26-56, and 24:1-53.. Teen World Bible Camp is open to all youth entering grades 4-12 in the 2016-2017 school year and 2016 high school graduates. Registration Fee for camp is $150 . Muggsy Bogues Fundamental Basketball Camp: Week 1 - Crews Recreation Center
Local basketball legend Muggsy Bogues returns to Crews this summer with a pair of basketball camps for any children between the ages of 6-13. Muggsy and his staff of experienced counselors will teach campers a variety of different skills through games, tournaments and other activities. They will not only teach them the fundamentals of the game, but allow them to learn in a fun and positive environment! These week-long camps will last from 9:00am until 4:00pm. Lunch is provided. NOTE: GOALKEEPER REGISTRATION IS FULL FOR THIS CAMP. We encourage your goalkeeper to attend the next One Day Prep Camp in June - details TBA. One Day Camp for those serious club and high school soccer players interested in playing college soccer in their future. Players are usually of high level but camp is open to all based only on age. The day is comprised of technical training, small sided games, full sided games, and a recruiting lecture by the Northwestern Coaching Staff. Youre making up songs, and they sound pretty great. Everybody thinks so. Yet, youre curious how to make future songs sound pretty greater. This workshop moves past the rigid structure that got your improv songwriting on its feet, and smoothes out the edges. Week one takes you back through song structure and function in finer detail, adding some new ways to build on simplicity. The second week works on two pairs of skills – beginnings/endings & leading/following. Week three delves into the wild world of fancy tricks and slick pop moves to prep your tool belt for heaps of song types. The only requirements are completion of Pop Songs Level 1 and a vested interest in ear-friendly musical makes ups. Taught by iOWest Musical Director Eric Schackne (323) 962-7560

This class is designed for 5th-9th grade students. Why Shakespeare? Why not! The stories are compelling and exciting. The characters thrilling and interesting. In the play well be working on this winter, they are also very comical! A Midsummer Nights Dream may be 450 years old, but its as funny today as when it was first performed in 1605. Under the guidance of Heather Sanderson, participants will present an abridged version of the play for a main stage presentation at the Annual LTA Showcase (April 1st & 2nd). During the course of the session, youngsters will learn acting methods naturally through a variety of theatre games, improvisation exercises and practical performance. INSTRUCTOR HEATHER SANDERSON studied classical theatre at RADA in London and prior to moving to Alexandria acted extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area. As "Miss Heather", she is known locally for instilling a love of theatre - in particular Shakespeare - into the hearts of children. Her youth Shakespeare troupes have performed in D.C. and in the U.K. and her privately coached monologue students have performed at the Shakespeare Theatre, the Fords Theatre and numerous community and childrens theatres in the area.
