This week long camp is home to children ages 5 to 16. My daughter spends 2 weeks of every summer at this camp. Counselors from all over the globe come to teach campers swimming, archery, exploring nature, digital photography, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, survivor skills, leadership skills and horseback riding. Tanikas are entering grades 10-12, and live in cabin units in main camp. Tanika campers plan their camping activities with the facilitation of their counselor. Tanika activities build on the skills and interests that the campers have previously developed. These may include waterfront activities, archery, climbing wall, arts and crafts, outdoor cooking, and advanced team building exercises. Participants must be able to swim 50 yards of front crawl as well as 50 yards of breaststroke in good form. American Red Cross Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors will lead participants through two water sessions per day which will include group lectures on Aquatics Safety as well as introductions to Aquatic Sports. On the last day, participants will have the opportunity to use our giant inflatables and will take part in a Junior Lifeguarding Competition.
