This camp is for kids that love robots. Our entire camp will be spent on different types of robotics building and programming activities. We will use consumer robotics, like LEGO Mindstorm, and also create custom solutions with hobby robotics platforms, like Arduino. Kids will take home an awesome Arduino robot for ongoing invention! Lets Put On a Show! (Reworked for 2016!) Monday-Thursdays, July 18-28, 9:00am-12:00pm NOTE: Extended days -- July 27 and 28 9:00am-4:00pm (Dress Rehearsals) Performance -- July 28, 4:00pm Bernardsville Middle School Cafeteria Stage Dream big and be a part of this camp experience offered by Music in the Somerset Hills! Lets Put On a Show! is designed to help young, aspiring singers and actors learn new skills for the musical theater stage. During the program, you will spend time learning how to create a character through your singing and acting, develop your songs into a story, and dance with fresh choreography designed specifically for you! Led by Jennifer Foose (Director of Musicals and Vocal Music at Cedar Grove High School), you will perform the best age-appropriate repertoire and learn how to choose songs that best suit your unique voice and needs. Each day will be spent on individual and group work, and the week-long session will culminate with a showcase performance on the final day which will include some of the scenes and songs learned throughout the program. Design beautifully detailed Star Wars® vehicles and power them with a LEGO® motor, battery pack and gears. Students experience the excitement of a motor - how this device can transform a stationary object into a moving one. Projects include the Millennium Falcon, Reys Landspeeder, R2D2, X-Wing fighter, and Snow-Speeder. Students construct the motorized projects, then customize the design, and play with and share ideas with other campers. Builders are sure to have the force with them in this camp!Students take home a LEGO® mini-build and camp T-shirt. Students do not take home the LEGO® projects or pieces from the class This is an afternoon half day camp for 5-7 year olds. Every lesson, students will exchange video messages with their sponsored partner student who lives in a developing country - together, they will come to identify and learn about a global issue, and then collaboratively design, print and test an invention to help solve that issue!
