Sign up for the chess program at school. Students will learn chess fundamentals and strategies that enhance learning skills and critical thinking through chess. We will build confidence and have the options to compete against other local school. Novice students and experienced players are encouraged to sign up as we will have two levels. This chess coach has been teaching chess with exuberance for over 20 years. Kids love his creative style and methods to improve at chess. His students have achieved noted success at local, state, and national chess events. Hector is a Class A United State Chess Federation Player. He looks forward to meeting the Saint Davids chess team players and start getting everyone ready for competition! This is a 9-week program beginning on January 7th going through February 25th on Thursdays from 3:00-4:30pm for 1st through 8th grade boys and girls with any experience level. 9197823331 x332

Kids will also watch educational programs about ceramics and clay , and will also participate in games and crafts. Camp Indian Summer is an opportunity for grown-up kids of all ages to leave their worries and responsibilties at the foot of the mountain and spend a few days being a kid again. Explore the streams, caves and forest trails on the 800 acre Cathedral Domain property located in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Relax on our decks and porches, beside the swimming pool, or around the campfire. Refresh your spirit with yoga classes, guided meditation, and creative worship. Held in Computer Lab. Using Lego Mindstorms robots, Terraformers software, Circuitry, Solar Kits, Keva Planks, Rocketry, Technology and do-it-yourself projects, our curriculum challenges kids to design and construct 3-D innovations individually and as a team. This is a full year STEAM program (science, technology, engineering, art, math) with all new lessons for fall, winter and spring sessions that do not repeat. Design a star wars robot and Mars Rover, program an adventure in space, construct a solar robot, test out circuitry, build a castle, bridge or dragon…and lots, lots more! Students acquire a basic knowledge of geometry, physics, technology, programming, circuitry, energy, sculpture, art and design. In addition to logical thinking, our program stimulates students thinking in a different way to generate innovations from their own imagination and discover their creative talent.
