In this session, SHEbot to the Rescue: Saving the World with Robots! , participants will learn how getting involved in building, programming and competing with LEGO NXT robots can lead to careers that help the world become safer, easier, and more. While having fun participant are engaged in teamwork, as well as computer programming, problem solving using math, robot engineering, design concepts, and critical thinking. My hope is to demonstrate to girls that whether they are really into the "techie" side of careers on not, STEM has a pathway to their dreams to make the world a better place. 8322080445.0

Spanish 1B Warm-Up (4303) Grades 7-8 - River Oaks Baptist School
Get a jump-start on Spanish 1B with Sr. Bain! Each day we will reinforce the heavy-hitting topics of Spanish 1A before we preview grammar and vocabulary that will be introduced in Spanish 1B. In addition, we will discuss study skills and create tools to use throughout the year. You will be ahead of the game when school starts! 713-623-6938

Our Forest Kindergarten program is modeled around German Waldkindergartens, in which all of our class time is spent entirely outside! Rolling enrollment continues based on availability Outdoor classrooms naturally create endless learning opportunities for our children to nurture their own curiosity, perhaps by following animal tracks and sign, making wild crafts with leaves and treasures found on the forest floor, or using fallen logs as balance beams. Adult mentors assist in the learning, rather than lead the teachings. This is different from a "nature preschool," which infuses lessons with nature-inspired themes and balances indoor time with outdoor time, as we will be outside the ENTIRE time in all but extreme weather conditions. Over the course of three weeks, the emphasis will be on gaining organizational skills, time management, successful testing strategies, reading comprehension and retention, answering questions with clarity and self-advocacy training.
