Description: This is a FREE basketball camp instructed by Coach Marv Lim & his high energy staff for girls interested in playing in our upcoming MGBLeague.com/SVUSD Girls Summer Basketball League. Girls will learn how to shoot, dribble, pass, and move without the ball using easy to understand and age appropriate drills. Players will also learn the rules of basketball. This is a perfect camp for beginning players that want to start playing basketball. This camp also offers a challenging curriculum for intermediate-advanced players. Summer Camp @ Arroyo Seco Park Group A (8-9) - City of Pasadena
The Arroyo Seco Adventure Camp offers opportunities to learn about our local, natural resources in a fun and exciting way. Now in its third year, this innovative camp pairs environmental education with traditional camp activities. Based in Brookside Park with regular activities in the lower Arroyo, this is an outdoor camp. The first week of camp focuses on origins of the Arroyo Seco and the geological events that created this amazing space. Other weeks focus on plants of the Arroyo, local animals and myths, protecting and exploring nature and survival skills. Conservation specialists lead daily nature walks and instruct on conservation of environmental resources, native plants and local wildlife. Other activities include casting pond fly-fishing, archery, horseback riding, hiking, environmental education lessons, swimming, art and group games. Campers go on a weekly environmental themed field trip. In previous years, trips included kayaking, nature centers and local farms. Staff ratio is 1 to 10. This camp is a great fit for campers ages eight to twelve who are interested in nature and are called to explore different kinds of recreation. Campers will make their very own spy toolkit and learn essential skills required for top notch espionage. Our College ID sessions offer top quality instruction to take your game to the next level. We will work on the technical side of your game at game speed and under game pressure through exercises and competitions that will help improve first touch, receiving and playing the ball with different surfaces of your foot, passing and shooting accuracy, service over distance, defensive positioning, heading, finishing, and MORE! We will also build on your tactical awareness of the game and your understanding of runs off the ball, defensive organization and communication, along with how to deal with numbers up vs. numbers down situations. Hang with the Bears on and off the field and learn what it takes to be a Division I college soccer player. Residential campers reside in Residence Halls in the center of the UC Berkeley Campus. All campers dine in the state-of-the-art Dining Center.
