Planet Protector - Green Science - United Faith Christian Academy
as your child ever wondered where their food comes from and where their trash goes? In Camp Green Science, campers will investigate, discover and explore how the choices we make have a direct impact on the environment we live in and learn simple things we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. Through fun, interactive activities, theyll learn about renewable energy including sun, wind, water and even potatoes! Theyll see the Greenhouse effect up close and learn how cow burps are related to trash and climate change. Campers will learn how to clean our oceans, purify drinking water, and start a compost pile. Theyll investigate why the rainforest needs to be saved, make their own paper, plant seeds in recycled paper planters, and taste fresh honey. Theyll snack on solar smores and swamp juice smoothies. Each camper will end the week by building a recycled soda bottle terrarium to take home. 7047743016.0

The week will begin with several low element activities as well as group initiatives designed to challenge campers and help them learn to work with team mates. All campers will have the opportunity to conquer multiple adventure activities as well! The Day Camps will emphasize fundamental skill development. The daily program will feature individual attention, small group instruction, contests and competitions, including 5-on-5 play. This is a campers unique opportunity to experience the University of Dayton Mens Basketball program up close. The Great Race with LEGO® Bricks - Bethel Christian Center
Weve got a week to design motorized vehicles with LEGO® components that will take us around the globe in record time. Our projects and destinations include: •A speedy train to travel across the USA •An ultralight plane to fly from New York to Paris •A dunebuggy to race from Paris to Moscow •A dogsled to travel across eastern Russia •A sailboat to cross the Pacific and get to the finish line Students build motor-driven vehicles with LEGO® components, customize their projects and run them on missions. Our class keeps an eye on how our virtual race opponents are doing, and answers questions together at the end of each leg to gain extra mileage or place roadblocks to slow down the competition. This is a fun way to develop new building skills. Students learn how different vehicles work, how the size and placement of gears affect their projects power and speed, how pulley belts are used to transfer motion, how to make a trailer for vehicles, how wheels and axles work, and other science and engineering concepts.
