Musical Improv - Pop Songs Level 2 - Eric Schackne - iO West
Youre making up songs, and they sound pretty great. Everybody thinks so. Yet, youre curious how to make future songs sound pretty greater. This workshop moves past the rigid structure that got your improv songwriting on its feet, and smoothes out the edges. Week one takes you back through song structure and function in finer detail, adding some new ways to build on simplicity. The second week works on two pairs of skills – beginnings/endings & leading/following. Week three delves into the wild world of fancy tricks and slick pop moves to prep your tool belt for heaps of song types. The only requirements are completion of Pop Songs Level 1 and a vested interest in ear-friendly musical makes ups. Taught by iOWest Musical Director Eric Schackne (323) 962-7560

This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.Extended care is offered before and after camp at Cabin John Ice for the Summer Fun Ice Skating Camp. Individual days ($8 per morning session, $12 per afternoon session) can be arranged and paid for in person at the rink, space permitting. Late pickup fee is $5 for each 15 minutes. Before-camp extended care (8am-9am) is also open to children registered for Outdoor Adventure Camp on applicable days. What do you get when you mix art, cardboard and creativity? Recycling at its finest. You can make just about anything with cardboard from paintings to trees. Imagine the possibilities this week when we work with nothing but cardboard. What happens when you put it in clay? Or when you mix it in the blender to make paper? If you could make anything out of cardboard what would you make? Exploring clay, drawing, painting, 3D construction and more, participants will complete an assortment of individual and group projects in each weeks theme, culminating in a showcase at the end of each camp, followed by the unveiling of an installation at our 9th annual Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival in September. * Artists Exchange will be open Monday the 8th on Victory Day. 401-490-9475
