Nurture In Nature is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization whos mission is to enrich and empower the lives of children and adults with disabilities by connecting them to nature. We are excited to partner with Camp Tuolumne Trails this summer and offer sponsorship for 20-30 children between the ages of 5-13 years to attend camp. We believe in creating an environment conducive for healthy, natural exploration of the outdoors, therefore we sponsor a support person to attend camp with our campers. Support personnel can be a parent, caretaker, or sibling familiar to the camper to help ease the transition to the outdoors. Our services focus on children residing in Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Mariposa and San Joaquin counties. If you are interested in having your child participate in our program please contact Jeanah Nomelli at 209-606-9712 or to further discuss your childs needs to ensure eligibility for the upcoming free of cost 2016 summer program , set for July 10-13. We will fill spots on a first come first serve basis for 30 campers. For youngsters in grades 5 through 10. Campers are allowed to bring a friend of the same sex and approximate age if they so choose. This weekend program allows for interactions amongst peer groups and a learning experience for those campers without diabetes. Educational sessions relating to Teen Issues, School Issues and How To-Be-A Friend are lead by the pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, dietitians and mental health professionals. Networking and the support of their peers is critical to this age. Campers are also treated to activities such as a beach party, luau, casino night and land sports.

February: Build-A-Thon At Keystone Science School, STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) is an integral part of every experience. The Girls in STEM program dives even deeper by exploring not only the STEM concepts in an empowering girls-only environment, but also highlighting real women currently working in STEM careers. This program builds leadership and collaboration between the girls involved as they engage in fun, hands-on activities that impart new skills and confidence in science, tech, engineering, and math - areas in which girls are inclined to be wallflowers. A key element of the program is a teaching technique called positive growth feedback in which "failure" is viewed as a necessary and even welcome step on the path to success. Research has shown that girls are especially receptive to this teaching technique and the scientific method is the ideal process for applying this technique to valuable learning.
