This Spring the Vermont People’s Convention will bring hundreds of people together as a critical step in building a unified movement for healthy communities and a just society. On April 30 & May 1st at Montpelier High School, individuals and organizations working for disability rights, racial justice, immigrant rights, climate justice and labor unions will come together for a weekend to share, learn and take action together. The organizers of the convention are working hard to make this an intergenerational event with a parallel Youth Activism Summit for teens, and a Kid’s Camp for children 12 and under. To make lasting and far reaching change we need the participation of Grandparents, Parents and their Children! The Kid’s Camp at the People’s Convention will not only provide quality childcare, but will be a fun space for kids to learn about and participate in creating a more just and vibrant world. Through stories and activities, kids will have opportunities to learn and think critically about various struggles for human rights and dignity. WEEK 8 (July 25-29): H2-Oh! Water Fun! To reserve space in each of our Summer Day Camp sessions, a deposit of $25 is required per session. The deposit is included within the weekly program fee. The High School Choir Camp is open to choral students who are entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12. Intensive study of the upcoming All-State repertoire is the primary focus of this acclaimed program for high school singers. One set of the All-State audition music will be provided to each camper at no additional charge. **Students need not have previously been a member of a TMEA All-State choral ensemble. Professor James Morrow, Director of Choral Activities, and Professor Suzanne Pence, Professor of Choral Music Education, conduct. Winter Prospect Camp - Oosterbaan Field House
This camp is a college identification camp. Field players and goalkeepers will work directly with the University of Michigan Mens Soccer staff to experience the daily training environment of the U-M Mens Soccer program. The camp will consist of on-field technical training, small-sided and large-sided games, as well as a lecture regarding the recruiting process. Do you ever wonder what you can do to give your child a head start in reading and writing for first grade? Come to A First Look at First Grade for a basic introduction to first grade reading and writing skills. Campers will have a fun-filled week getting to know what its like to be a first grade reader and writer. Activities include: multi-sensory reading activities, writing workshop experiences, utilizing reading and writing iPad apps especially for first grade, an introduction to Friday premiers, and a look at OTS first grade edible education program.
