Fencing captures the imagination of kids of all ages, but it requires a trained, experienced instructor to learn safely and correctly. The Young Scholars Fencing Program is being run by the coaches of the Central PA Fencing Association. Coach Wes Glon, the Head Coach of the PSU Fencing Team personally trains and hires the coaches for this program. Coach Chuck has 40 years of fencing experience and has been part of the CPFA programs since 2006. Your child will learn the basics of sabre fencing with an emphasis on sportsmanship, safety and history. Greetings, friends! We want you to be a part of the Fox 61 “Send a Kid to Camp” Phone Bank, benefiting Hartford’s Camp Courant. The Phone Bank will air live from Fox 61 and WCCT (CW) on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 beginning from 9a.m. to 10a.m. and then returning from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Your support of this campaign will help Hartford’s Camp Courant and Fox 61 further their missions to support education-based programs for children throughout the greater Hartford community. Our goal is to raise $100,000 during the live four-hour televised fundraiser, which will help to enhance the summer experience for nearly 1,000 Hartford children this year. We have a long standing, aligned and focused partnership with Fox 61 who is dedicated to making a positive difference. Everything they do in the community will link directly to their mission of HOPE (Helping Organizations Promote Education) where they will focus their resources to maximize impact. Tuesdays, 2:45 - 4:00pm No class 2/23, 3/29 Refund policy: If you decide to cancel your childs registration, we can offer you a full refund if you contact us to cancel before the date of the second class. If you cancel after that date there will be a $15 fee. Low enrollment: "Take My Word For It!" occasionally has to cancel a class due to low enrollment. (The minimum number of students varies from school to school). Typically we will meet on the first date while continuing to promote the class. Winter Prospect Camp - Oosterbaan Field House
This camp is a college identification camp. Field players and goalkeepers will work directly with the University of Michigan Mens Soccer staff to experience the daily training environment of the U-M Mens Soccer program. The camp will consist of on-field technical training, small-sided and large-sided games, as well as a lecture regarding the recruiting process. 420 Intermediate Session 1 - 15 Tucks Point Rd., Manchester
The 420 Intermediate class is designed for sailors who have mastered the basics and want to enhance their sailing skills in a double-handed boat. Successful completion of two sessions of the 420 Beginner class, Opti Advanced, Opti Race Team, or a sailor who can demonstrate similar skills is required. There will be both chalkboard (pre and post sailing) and on-the-water instruction with a focus on fun while learning. Students will learn boat handling, sail trim and introductory spinnaker skills. This class has a hands on learn-to-sail focus. When complete, sailors will be able set, fly, and douse a spinnaker, demonstrate skipper/crew communication and teamwork, sail a 420 upwind, downwind, and do so with independence and confidence. This class is best for 12 – 18 year olds who are seeking to become proficient at two-person performance dinghy sailing.
