Heavy Metal Mania - LCMM Campus: Vergennes/Basin Harbor
Back by popular demand! An introduction to casting and copper-folding. Want to play with red hot metal and hit things really hard? This sampler gives a taste of the ancient arts of pounding iron, melting bronze and shaping sheet copper. Work with your hands, get dirty, make and take cool stuff. Well cool off with some swimming and games. * This program does not include using the blacksmithing forge due to safety considerations. Treasure Hunting with Stamps! Letterboxing! - The Evergreen School
A week of stamp making, hiking and treasure hunting. Students will create their own stamps, follow directions, and find hidden letterboxes. They will stamp in and collect stamps from each of our daily hikes. We will even make our own letterboxes, write up the clues and hide them for others to find. Students will be hiking approximately 1-3 miles daily with plenty of time for breaks, lunch, play, and treasure hunting. Children must bring a lunch, a full water bottle, and should wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots. The class will be outdoors all day walking fairly easy trails. Letterboxing is a great prologue to geocaching. 206-957-1533
