Cardinal Volleyball Camp For Students currently in 6th-7th grade (15-16) Alexandria Area High School Auxiliary Gym. The Cardinal Volleyball Camp, run by the Cardinal coaches, is a great way to start learning the skills and expectations of the 9-12 program. We will touch on the very basic components of individual skill and progress toward exposure to more advanced concepts that we implement at the varsity level. A variety of individual skills will be addressed including: basic passing form, defensive movement, serving approach footwork, blocking footwork and transition movement. Team concepts that will be touched on include: offensive and defensive systems, serve receive patterns and positive team interactions. This is your chance to get a jump-start on understanding what being a Cardinal volleyball player means both on and off the court. Summer Track Club (5-10): 9:00-11:00 - The Hockaday School
Speed: Runners, on your mark… Go! Sprint your way into new running technique that will improve speed. Join the Track Club to learn speed drills and footwork fundamentals with track equipment. This camp will teach kids to enjoy competition. Our campers will participate in games and kid-friendly contests of some of the drills. Distance: Pace yourself from start to finish. Children will remain lifelong runners with the right shoes and the right distance. Running longer and farther is one of the best ways to keep our campers active. Come form happy hearts and lungs with us by building endurance, stamina, and strength. Jumping: Blast off to test your flying skills! Get off the ground with long jumps, high jumps, triple long jump, and much more. Learn simple techniques that will make a huge difference in jumping performance from the runway into the sand pit. Throwing: You have the power! Test your Strength. Throwing is a fun way to improve upper and lower body strength. Campers will learn about fun throwing events, such as shotput, discus, hammer, and javelin. You will make accurate throws with good technique and form. 214-360-6586
Radical Reptiles (ages 5-10) M-F 10am-1pm - Meadowlark Community Church
Radical Reptiles & Animals with John Taibe (AGES 5-10) Join John Taibe from Radical Reptiles and Friends as he introduces the children to a unique menagerie of live animals including snakes, frogs, turtles, tortoises, lizards, bugs and other creepy crawlies. As the children explore the animal kingdom, they will have a unique, hands-on experience enhanced by art, games and various projects related to these creatures. Kids will be up and about moving too! The kiddos get John for 2 special hours. Children whove attended this camp in the past should experience new adventures & get to see Johns latest creatures. Children will have a snack time, 2 recesses on the fabulous playground and a lunchtime. We will split the campers into "tribes" similar to the popular TV reality series. Survivor campers will get the chance to compete in "survival games" and enjoy the outdoors in this fun-filled camp! Be sure to wear clothes you can get dirty. Elem Aftercare Week 4 - Merrill Engineering Building
We are going to offer a limited aftercare program from 3 until 5:30. This will largely not be computer related, but more about enjoying some of the University of Utah campus - doing activities like bowling or games on the open spaces. I know this does not solve the problem for those enrolled in the Beginning Scratch camp ending at 11:45AM. Sorry. We will distribute a daily schedule so that you can pickup early if needed. A snack will be provided. Only for students in the Advanced Scratch, Super Scratch, or FIRST Lego League camps. Additional fees apply, please see the Dates or Registration page. 801-585-1726
