Mission Teen WorkCamp - Scranton, PA
Help work to repair or modify the homes of families in need with other high school students from different denominations, states across the country and walks of life. Any students who are currently in 8-12th grade may participate. Youth Summer Camp - Hampden Sydney, VA
The HST Summer Youth Camp will run for 4 days from 9 AM – 12 PM. The camp focus is on baseball instruction and drills to improve the skill. The camp will begin with an introduction of the fundamentals of baseball. Each day will begin with throwing and catching drills. The session will be followed by position training. Each player will learn about each position on the field. Each day there will also be a specialty skill learned. These skills will be base running, sliding, and bunting. Each day ends with games. The SMC Prospect Camp will run from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The camp offers top student athletes the chance to excel and compete in a learning environment. Players will receive extensive instruction in hitting, pitching, and fielding by SMC coaches while getting a chance to play in some competitive games. Printmaking Studio with Ann Cheeks - Ah Haa School for the Arts
Explore some traditional printmaking techniques, from linocuts to monoprints. Students will learn how to create unique, handmade artwork for personal cards, gifts, posters or wall art. The workshop will introduce students to linocut techniques, the process of carving into soft printing blocks with linoleum cutters and printing with water-soluble inks. Monoprint techniques will also be taught for creating looser, more abstract images. All students should come away with no fewer than five images from printmaking techniques, and the skills to create more on their own with a few low-cost tools. CSI II - Crime Scenes Talk - United Faith Christian Academy
Campers will become advanced forensic scientists for the week! Campers will analyze and gather evidence for a number of fictitious crime scenes, use luminal and UV light to detect the presence of blood, complete a blood splatter analysis, take crime scene photographs, complete a drug and poison analysis. Campers will also gather insects as from our rotting carcass (pork chop) as they discover how CSIs use their entomology skills to determine time of death.
