Teens ages 13 to 18 are invited to join Rock Island County 4-H for an interactive leadership retreat on Saturday, August 29 at Camp Summit in New Windsor. Teens will get to participate in team-building exercises, go zip-lining and other outdoor activities as well as give their input into ideas they would like to see for youth programs in the local community. Teens will learn ways they can use their interests and skills to develop their leadership, citizenship, presentation and organization skills by becoming in involved in the various 4-H Teen programs offered in Rock Island County.

Save the date, we'll be taking over the insane Roseland Resort for a weekend bonanza of pool parties, camp fires, club ragers and weirdo sunrise woodland excursions together. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR NOW: - Roseland has a 20 year tradition of being a clothing optional, men-only resort. We must respect the rules of the space and adhere to this for the 2015 edition. The Full-Day Newcomer Camp is for those who want to spend a full-day with the Stanford Coaching Staff and college players learning the game of golf! The philosophy of the Newcomer Golf Camp is to introduce the game of golf to juniors aged between 5 and 12 with either no experience or a couple of years of instruction. Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. Instruction will be given at a pace intended to maintain the attention of campers and at the same time be appropriate for each individuals skill level. Active and energetic instructors will lead the youngsters through a series of games and exercises that will develop confidence and passion for the game. Groups will be organized by current skill level. The camp environment is designed to allow participants to meet other young golfers and help foster an enthusiasm and passion for the game.
