Do you like to discuss current events? Do you wish you could speak with more confidence? Learning the art of debate will help you understand how to analyze issues, speak with authority and engage others. Debate camp will introduce you to the fundamentals of competitive academic debate while learning the basics of good argument theory, the format and rules of competitive debate, critical thinking, research and speech skills. This 68 year old camp is designed for children from 2nd grade to 11th grade. The camp has a strong Jewish heritage which influences the activities they offer. My 12 year old son enjoys the friendly staff and the fun activities. He has grown in confidence while discovering who he is in relation to the community at large. Lacey Camp (Outdoor) - REGULAR Session 7 - 2016 - City of Hanford
Grades: K - 12th This weeks theme "End of Summer Party / Talent Show Week" Parents, is your child ready to have fun and make new friends this summer? If yes, then bring your child to the coolest hot spot in town. The Lacey Park Day Camp is full of fun activities for children grades K thru 6th. This is an outdoor recreation camp. Campers will learn about the benefits of being physically active; as well as, having a healthy lifestyle in the outdoors. Each week campers will engage in various group games, art projects, participate in a talent show and weekly field trips to the Hanford Teen Center, Hanford Plunge and the local Library. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. A weekly food menu will be provided at request. If your child has a particular taste, you may consider bringing a sack lunch for your child. The park in the summer is hot, please send your child to the park with a bottle of water and sunscreen. Staff will provide an igloo of cold water for refills.
