Campers will learn the ancient art of fencing beginning with the modern version of the court sword. Campers will learn basic foot drill, parry drill, and attacks. Physical skills in agility, coordination and fitness will be emphasized. Rules, scoring and judging, tactics and strategy are part of the fencing mental skills developed as well. Campers will sharpen concentration and alertness, reaction and evaluation. Sparring is safe and fun. Required equipment will be furnished. Minimum of four children. This week, students dive into the deep seas of their imaginations in search of buried treasure! Activities include discovering a long lost map which will lead them to unknown worlds and meeting colorful characters aboard the ship of Adventure. This combination of training and playing helps campers transfer the skills and tactics developed into game play. Each camper is assigned to a team upon arrival at camp.
