KidFit is smart fitness for kids ages 8-13! Kids learn skills that instill proper functional movement patterns applicable to ANY sport or activity. We teach kids how to maintain proper body balance, strength, and mobility, all in a FUN environment! Each day includes a skill practice, team building exercises, body rolling, experiential anatomy, and injury preventions techniques. We also teach kids how to fuel our bodies for optimal health and performance. ROBOTICS Explore and build with Lego WeDo 2.0 robots. Students will build robots using the new Lego WeDo 2.0 system. Students will learn to assemble and program the robots to learn the basic concepts of programming. Once students have shown mastery of the system basics they will be allowed follow their own path as they investigate increasingly complex modules. Modules may include: Sorting to Recycle: Design a device that uses the physical properties of objects, including their shape and size, to sort them. Robust Structures: Investigate the characteristics that make a building earthquake resistant, using an earthquake simulator constructed from LEGO® bricks. MAKER STATION Learn how to build a catapult from common household materials and use the Engineering Design Process to improve your design. Prototype a foam rocket toy and experiment with the design to fly longer and farther. Build balloon powered rocket cars to race against your classmates. Students will be building with common household materials and applying the Engineering Design Process to their work.
