Summer Camp Week 2 Ages 8-12 - First Free Church
CAMP DETAILS Fractured Fairy Tales Week In our Fractured Fairytale world, students will learn how to adapt traditional fairytales using unexpected characterization, modified points of view and bizarre plot development. Working as an ensemble well then dramatize our new fractured fairy tale using music and movement. Working alongside one of our professional teaching artists students will also play fun theater games and learn how to develop characters for the stage. This camp aims to cultivate creativity and give participants experience of creating their very own theater piece. Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Musical Theater Week Thank you for the music! In this camp, students will have fun exploring their own personal voices through songs and dances from various musicals! In addition to drama and improv games that foster theater skills in creativity, self-expression and teamwork, campers will create their own show that incorporates songs from their favorite musicals. Throughout the week we will also work together to create prop, costume and set pieces to use in our culminating original show that highlights our collaborative efforts! 773-944-9146

The Advanced Setting Camp is designed for athletes entering grades 7-12 and is ideal for athletes who want to train strictly at the setter position. This position specific camp focuses on all aspects of setting and is led by Head Coach Jerritt Elliott. The skills taught at this camp include hand position, footwork, jump setting, defense, and transition. Campers will also learn offensive systems and setting strategies. Locally owned, Challenger Sports runs the largest number of soccer camps in the United States. Challenger will coach over 80,000 players throughout the U.S each year. Olathe Parks & Recreation has teamed up to host the week long British Soccer Camp during the week of May 31-June 3 at Black Bob Park, June 27-30 at Prairie Center Park and then again July 25-29 at Black Bob Park. We have incredible coaches with neat accents who make learning fun! We recruit the best coaches in the business and we are about every child having a good day every day! The Challenger Way focuses on challenging players to improve with maximum participation, maximum touches on the ball and maximum fun. Simply put, no line drills, no long speeches and lots of encouragement. Each of our coaches hold a national coaching license from Great Britain and are trained specifically for the British Soccer Camp program. Soccer camp will be held under the directions of Soccer Shots™, a leader in youth soccer development in the DE and PA area under the direction of C.C. Colasante. CC was an all-state player for Salesianum, All-American while playing at LaSalle, and also played professionally for the Philadelphia Kixx. Players will be taught the fundamentals of shooting and passing. Mornings will consist of skill sessions and afternoons will be occupied with competitive games and scrimmages. Teamwork around the net will be emphasized. ------------- LOCATION: Sanford School. Please drop your child off at the Sports Center at 8:45 a.m. Pick up will be in the same location at 11:45 a.m. unless your child is registered for day camp (1/2 day) in which case they will be escorted to lunch and then to day camp for the afternoon. ------------ RAINY DAYS: Please wear sneakers. Camp held indoors ------------ WHAT TO BRING: Light-weight, loose fitting shirts, shorts, socks and sneakers or soccer shoes. Water Bottle Bathing suit and towel for free swim in the afternoon.
