LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Swimming 3 - Brigham Young University
Come join coach John Brooks and his staff at the BYU Swimming Camp. Our camp offers four days of training and feedback. You will define your own specific needs as a competitive swimmer, determine personal training guidelines to meet these needs and then develop individual goals to increase your performance potential throughout the year. In class, you will discover the theory behind powerful, winning strokes. You will study detailed sequential movements of competitive strokes, learn fundamental competitive techniques, view contemporary training films and receive valuable feedback from the analysis of personal videotapes. In the pool you will undergo extensive drills, workout sets and time trials. 1st Session - Crochet / Knitting/ Paper Folding - YSCP
Instructor: Ms. Anamaria Here is the summary for the club. Below it is the summary for me: Crochet/Knitting and Paper folding In this club we focus on learning basic crochet or knitting techniques. This includes learning how to read charts. Students choose between knitting or crochet to start. They have option of learning the other later. Squares are the main building blocks for all of the projects. Projects will be up to the students to choose. They range from a scarf, book cover to a basic shirt. There will also be small non-square projects like mustaches, flowers and balls. Focusing on squares gives participants a quick project that can easily be completed during club time after the first few sessions. It also allows for lots of color without having to change or join yarn. Small projects like these can easily be done anywhere. The possibilities are endless for completed projects. A completed scarf can easily become a blanket later on if they want with the simple addition of more squares. Professional Scene Study (Sp16JUN) - Aquila Morong Studio
This class is an "actors gymnasium," where you will be asked to follow direction, learn what directors look for on set, and get invaluable feedback on your work. Donna Morong, noted Casting Director and Acting Teacher, will provide feedback alongside a guest director as you are filmed performing scenes from film and TV. Students will learn how to work on-set under pressure in a simulated professional environment. Previous directors include: Randall Zisk (Scandal, The Mentalist, Monk), Gary Fleder (Homefront), Damon Santostefano (Three To Tango), Will Geiger (Elvis and Anabelle), Brett Simon (Assassination of a High School President), and Anna Mastro (Guidance,Walter). "I encourage my students to take risks, explore different choices and delve more deeply into the characters they are portraying. I provide an environment that is close to a professional work situation without the pressure of having to prove anything. I hope to develop their own internal sense of emotional truth as it applies to film, theater and television roles. They get to work with highly regarded professional directors and learn to respond to direction in the moment." -Donna Morong 323-461-6396
