This Camp Will Get Your Motor Revving
My son really enjoyed Camp Motorsport! He was able to drive a real race car and it was very similar to one that the real race car drivers use. It was sized just right for him. He was able to drive dirt karts, go carts and half scale race cars. The other activities he experienced were marine biology, which he absolutely loved, art, soccer, basketball and lot of swimming. Did you ever think, What makes people laugh? What makes you laugh? We will spend a week laughing at comedy throughout the ages and create our own! By watching comedy in many forms, such as cartoons, sit-coms, improv, standup, and movies, we will laugh and learn about the universal truth of comedy and how it has evolved over time and by culture. We will also read funny stories, jokes, and essays, and we will grow as writers by writing our own comedy sketches, stories, jokes, and short films. We will also practice improv. The week will conclude with a comedy performance of the work we will create. Be ready to laugh, think, and push yourself not just to be a funnier person but also to become a comedy expert. Students will learn about project design, object-oriented programming, console applications, graphics applications and many elements of the Java language. Students will build on what they learn each day. This includes learning how to program frames, colors and programming moving objects. The week begins with simple programming until it builds by the end where students will be able to create the game of pong in Java. No programming experience is necessary but doing common tasks on a computer is useful. Who knows, maybe you have the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs living in your house and you never knew it! CAMP DETAILS Fractured Fairy Tales Week In our Fractured Fairytale world, students will learn how to adapt traditional fairytales using unexpected characterization, modified points of view and bizarre plot development. Working as an ensemble well then dramatize our new fractured fairy tale using music and movement. Working alongside one of our professional teaching artists students will also play fun theater games and learn how to develop characters for the stage. This camp aims to cultivate creativity and give participants experience of creating their very own theater piece. Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Musical Theater Week Thank you for the music! In this camp, students will have fun exploring their own personal voices through songs and dances from various musicals! In addition to drama and improv games that foster theater skills in creativity, self-expression and teamwork, campers will create their own show that incorporates songs from their favorite musicals.
