Our 8-12 group will have an emphasis on basic movement pattern development, and SAQ (speed, agility, quickness) Training, while the 13-18 group will also dive into proper lifting technique and strength and explosive power development. This year youth camp will be held beginning Monday, July 18 and will end with a camp BBQ on Friday, July 22nd. ****REGISTRATION**** Registration is $85 before July 1st. This camp is a wonderful opportunity for campers to learn basic sewing skills and make fun, cute projects. Youll make machine-sewn projects that you can take home and show off to your friends and family. If this is your first time sewing, well start you off with some great beginner projects. PROJECTS: * Drawstring Bag * Pillow Case with French Seams * Appliqued Pillow * Stuffed Animal * Stylish Zipper Clutch SKILLS & TECHNIQUES: * Sewing-machine basics * Tools & terminology * Stitches: regular, topstitch, edge stitch and basting * Appliqué and adorning techniques All sewing equipment, material and patterns will be provided. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lab fee of $50 payable to instructor at 1st day of camp to cover the costs of patterns, fabric, machines and notions. Tennis 3.5 hours per day Adventure 2.5 hours per day During the first part of the day, campers join our regular tennis camp and have lunch. Children will be divided by level and develop tennis strokes, rallying skills, and age appropriate competitive play. Campers learn teamwork, make friends and enjoy fun games like Angry Birds Tennis, Skyball, and Big Kahuna. All camps feature Higgins Bucks, Water Fun Day (no swimming) and the Higgins Bucks Store where children buy prizes on Fridays. In the afternoons we set out on an Adventure! Adventures include: Flyers Day: Build a kite or glider and fly them at Blackies Builders Day: Make a Native American mat or basket, or a model airplane Hiking Days: Along Blackies Shore and up to "Hippie Tree" Board Game Mania ACTIVITY OTHER CATEGORY 3.
