LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Music Theater Camp - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
Our most popular camp every summer! We provide a comprehensive program of intensive classes in a wide variety of theater performing arts, each taught by a working professional in that field. Students train for 3 weeks, five days a week, in the 3 disciplines of musical theater - dance, music, and acting in addition to rehearsing a full musical which will culminate in one of our main stage productions. Developing the ability to sustain concentration throughout the process is one of the most important skills that students take away from the program. Along with the daily basic skills work, students will learn and grow attending separate workshops such as audition preparation, bringing songs to life, how to conquer your nerves and life in the business from professionals that are IN the business! This camp is for the serious singing actor. You will work with professionals from the local DFW stages as well as Broadway and Opera! Camp culminates in full productions of a show to be named soon (June 24-26 and July 1-3) for our older students and Junie B. Jones (June 27 – July 2) for our younger students. 817-421-2825

¡La Cocina Loca! - Building H
Whos ready to have a fiesta? Throughout the week well practice our Spanish while taking trips to the Latino markets in Durham, the Panaderia (bakery), and the Paleteria (ice cream shop). La Cocina Loca campers will shop for lunch ingredients to make their lunches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and hop on the Duke School bus to travel off campus for lunch on Tuesday and Thursday. Please note that lunch is provided for the whole week, but your camper still needs to bring a morning and afternoon snack. Director: Carla Horta 9194932642.0
Amplified Electronics (STEM) - Palm Harbor Montessori Academy
Amplify your childs interest in electronics with this exciting camp! Kids tinker with switches, LEDs, buzzers and wire to create a series of simple circuits that form the foundation for exciting DIY designs. Projects such as Electronic Quiz and Burglar Alarm generate excitement while campers explore concepts ranging from conductivity to solar power! And yes, Playdoh is conductive! Sounds of Silence is a guided program designed specifically for infants to two year old children. It is a time for parent and child to leave the noisy, often over-stimulated world and connect through gestures, body language and facial expressions. The class moves slowly and calmly creating a safe, relaxing environment for very little people to experience our ranch and the wonders of Mother Nature. With no chit-chatting from the adults, there is a distinct and beautiful emphasis on what each child is noticing and how they are interacting with that plant, rock, animal or new friend. Throughout Sounds of Silence, the Barn Faerie shows and models a myriad of ways to support you and your young child in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and awakening to the natural world.
