She also had the opportunity to ride a horse on the trails of the Sandia Foothills. She loved being outdoors and learning about horses. They also had a good old fashioned cookout. Summer Art Camp for Kids - Winslow, AR
Summer Art Camp for Kids babaMonday-Friday, July 11-15, 9-12am Special outdoor dinner and performance on Friday, July 15, beginning at 6pm. Explore new areas in the arts at Summer Art Camp, July 11-15 at Ozark Folkways! Create giant masks and bring the characters of the Russian folk tale Baba Yaga to life as you experiment with music-making, movement, and mime! There will be witches, magical animals, fabulous costumes, lights, music and action: fun for all levels. Everyone will take part in a final performance at dusk on Friday, July 15 on our outdoor stage, the Crow’s Nest. The community will be invited to join in a weiner roast before the show, and then to marvel at the amazing performance the kids will have put together in a single week! Cost is $25 per child and includes all supplies and a healthy mid morning snack each day. Space is limited! Pre-registration is required and spots are available on a first come first serve basis. ORBC Youth will be holding a Garage Sale in the Shockley Family Life Center on Saturday, March 5th. Please consider donating items, we all have that pile of stuff that we are ready to donate after our spring cleaning and then let's go SHOPPING at this important event for our youth! Please share with your friends, who doesn't like to garage sale?!?! If you need your donation items picked up please contact our Youth Minister, Ben Miller, for those details. Items can be brought to the gym as early as January 23rd.

*This class has been canceled due to lack of interest. If your child is 13 or older, they can enroll in our Adult Wheel classes! If you are interested in a specific class that is not offered, please call Kim at 785-537-4420. ***** Instructor: Jesse Ring Ages 11-14 Days: Thursdays Time: 4:00-6:00pm Dates: Feb 4-Mar 10 Cost: $95 (min. enrollment 4) This young teens class will focus on beginning to learn the basics of the potters wheel. Projects will range from cellphone boom box holders, treasure boxes, cereal bowls, and coffee mugs. Clay cost is included. MAC has a $10 non-refundable deposit on classes that are canceled by the participant. If a class is canceled by MAC before it begins, the entire paid amount will be refunded. 785-537-4420

Have you ever wondered how our ancestors survived in the wild? This week will dispel some of the mystery as you learn skills all cultures have used for time eternal. Learn how to make cordage and fire using primitive techniques. Learn how and where to build a survival shelter that you can actually sleep in on our Wednesday campout. Of course, no week of Mountain Kids would be complete without moments of serendipity where we get curious and learn from nature and play. This fun and learning-packed week is sure to fire up and build the confidence of any budding outdoors kid! 505-699-6230
