PB Parenting's Summer Camp Expo & Family Fun Day - West Palm Beach, FL
PB Parenting will be hosting their 2nd annual Summer Camp Expo on Sunday April 24 from 11 AM – 3 PM at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. There will be over 40 local summer camps from throughout Palm Beach County who will provide information to hundreds of moms and dads looking for ideas of where to send their children to summer camp this year. There will be representatives from camps covering all areas of interest including Art, Sports, Gymnastics, Science, Outdoors, Theatre, Horse, Music, Technology, Ice Skating, Wildlife, Swimming, Photography, Dance and so much more. It will be a day of family fun! Entertainment for kids will include TWO shows by Patty Shukla, Arts and Crafts with Kids Need More Art, Character Meet and Greets, Face Painting, Fun Science Experiments in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering and Technology with The Science Academy and more! In addition, parents can play “Passport to Summer.” They can pick up their passport at the PB Parenting table and get stamps from the camps. Our Day Camp at Fiddlers Elbow incorporates many activities in a camp day. We will also include golf, tennis, and swimming. We teach children the value of teamwork, cooperation and commitment which are the essential elements of success in sports and activities, as well as in life. Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 7 - 9 Dates: June 27 – July 1 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Format: One-week session designed around challenging activities Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: $360/session Cabinets of curiosity, also known as wonder rooms, were collections of extraordinary objects used to categorize the world and tell stories about its oddities. In this class, we will create a wonder room by investigating several of the many ways in which science and art intersect. By highlighting the overlap between art and science, we will gain a better understanding of each, as well as a new appreciation for how art can play a role in scientific processes and how science can inform and facilitate the creation of visual art. Topics of exploration may include: • Gyotaku/fish printing • Biological illustration • Kinetic sculpture • Cyanotyping/solar prints • The golden ratio and biomimicry • Using bacteria as paint • Nature journaling and the history of collecting 216-455-0154

Registration fee is $80 total for Mesa residents/$96 non-resident. (Due at time of enrollment: $40 Mesa resident/$480non-resident.
