LATEST CAMPS NEWS: #20 LEAD Week (Girls Gr. 9-12) • $425 - Camp Fowler
This is camp for those who want not just to have an experience, but to make an experience. We bring out the leadership skills in all our campers and help you create a unique week of camp. You will participate in all the Fowler has to offer and gain some of the skills that our staff has learned. If you are in 10th-12th grade, participation in LEAD also allows you to apply to come as a Student Working in Ministry (SWiM) and use your newly honed skills alongside of the Fowler staff. Students need to fill out a SWiM application which can be found on the Fowler website. Weeks will be assigned on a first come - first served basis. 518-631-6789

SC2016: Hermit Crab Crawl-Down Week - Sanibel Flagship Campus
Hey, I like my house.. but I like yours more. Think Ill take it! Yep, thats a hermit crab for you - always taking your stuff! Lets capture a few of them and see what shells they prefer and why. Does a hermit prefer a sturdy fortress of a shell or a light easy-to-run with shell? Well track them by their trails and see where they go. Then of course, we have to build our own houses - light or sturdy- and protect them from other marauding hermits. And by the way, whats the difference between an ocean hermit crab and a land hermit crab? And have you ever seen pictures of crazy-big land crabs that use coconuts for shells?!! You will. Animals, Animals, Animals! Make and bird out of a flat piece of clay or turn a clay bowl into a piggy bank. Campers will learn basic clay hand building techniques in this week of camp where kingdom Animalia rules supreme. Ceramics camps allow children to immerse themselves in clay studio studies ranging from basic hand building, wheel throwing, and sculpting. Campers will learn a variety of skills designed to fit the camp they are in. Ceramic focus campers will learn the technical aspects of recycling, slab work, build a simple kiln from a metal trash can and firing pottery in it. All under the guidance of a professional potter and the fire department. Clay adventures offers a beginners taste of experimenting with clay.
