LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Summer Camp @ La Pintoresca Group C (11-12) - City of Pasadena
This is a 6 week camp that will run from June 27-August 5 from 8-6 pm. (Excluding 4th of July) This traditional camp is high-quality, fun and affordable. Activities include arts and crafts, physical fitness games and challenges, dance, visits to the onsite library at La Pintoresca Park and swimming. Campers play basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. Instruction is also offered in golf and tennis. Campers are escorted to Robinson Park Recreation Centers swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Staff go into the water with the campers and certified lifeguards are always present. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Trips are an additional charge and are scheduled for once a week. This camp is a good fit for active campers who like sports and group activities. The ratio of staff to campers is 1 to 10. Campers are grouped by age, and lunch and a snack are provided. Camp culminates in the annual War Games in which Washington Park Camp and La Pintoresca Park Camps compete in a series of challenges to determine an annual camp champion. All proceeds support Hudson Guild’s free summer camp for kids in need. $50 in advance (through June 2), $60 at the door Hudson Guild is a community-based social services organization rooted in and primarily focused in Chelsea. Each year, Hudson Guild provides a wide range of services, from early childhood education to programs for seniors, including PreK, afterschool, teen services, mental health care, and both visual and performing arts – for over 14,000 underprivileged members of our community. Hudson Guild provides a stable “home away from home” for learning and development, and a safety net for people in economic distress.

Campers will learn to become Crime Scene Investigators during actual crime scene setups! Campers will learn how law enforcement professional solve crimes and meet real professional Crime Scene Investigators, K-9 Handlers and Forensic Pathologists (Sometimes the professionals are not able to come, due to their workload). Youll use the tools used in the field to collect evidence. Campers will learn how a crime is actually solved and learn how Biology, Chemistry and Physics play a major role in the investigation! Our lesson plans will go more in depth in etiquette, rules of golf, golf skills, shot making, and begin discussions for those that want to pursue local competitions.
