Session 1: Melanesias Matchless Majesty 08-09 Year Olds - DC Bilingual Public Charter School
REGULAR CAMP This years weekly themes and cultures of focus include: Melanesias Matchless Majesty, Argentinas Amazing Adventures, Zimbabwes Zesty Zambezi, and Cubas Captivating Coast. Campers will embark on a cultural journey that includes the exploration of nature, geography, music, history, foreign languages, art, science, math, exercise, sports, and literature. Sub-themes are incorporated daily to facilitate a fun and culturally stimulating camp experience. Campers also participate in specialty classes such as chess, cooking, and yoga.BEFORE & AFTER CAMP Before and After Campers will participate in organized games and activities. Tennis: All Girls Prep for Tennis Team Camp - Atlee High School
Fees: $100, additional sibling fee $90 [ ] For girls playing/hoping to play on their middle/high school tennis team - come join us for a super fun week. Visual Arts From Sea to Shining Sea: Enatai - Enatai Elementary
Voyage with us from Sea to Shining Sea as we create art in a wide variety of mediums that are sure to capture the creativity of every child. We will explore seascapes, ocean life, lighthouses, and more while learning from masters in art such as Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer and Henri Matisse! Catch a wave with us into visual arts looking below the ocean surface in a submarine, and taking a walk along the sandy beach picking up sea shells. We will explore oil pastels, watercolor techniques, acrylic paint, paper collage, origami and more! Join us this spring to expand your artistic skills as we sail the open seas! 4B. Summer Camp - Java Game Programming - 5 Days - Gizmos & Gadgets Kids Lab
Students will learn about project design, object-oriented programming, console applications, graphics applications and many elements of the Java language. Students will build on what they learn each day. This includes learning how to program frames, colors and programming moving objects. The week begins with simple programming until it builds by the end where students will be able to create the game of pong in Java. No programming experience is necessary but doing common tasks on a computer is useful. Who knows, maybe you have the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs living in your house and you never knew it!
