Youth who have specific medical conditions or special needs can also have a summer camp experience. There are programs designed to bring together youth who may not fit into a traditional setting. For example, there are groups for children battling cancer as well as programs for children with diabetes.

There are programs for all types of youth: from those who want to lose weight and do not want to be judged or bullied to kids who are in wheelchairs. Healthcare professionals often refer youth to such programs to help them socialize with kids in the same situations. Expert staff are on hand to support all kids’ physical and mental health needs. This is a chance for kids to no longer feel like the exception but to finally feel like they are a part of the majority. Campers can finally laugh without hesitation and feel like they belong. .
