MIDDLE SCHOOL ART CAMP: Grade 7/Session 1 Students entering grades 6-8 will be immersed in a variety of studio art experiences in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media and metalsmithing. The camp faculty of professional artists and art educators develop fun & innovative lessons that are appropriate for all students. Parents are asked to provide lunch, snack and a beverage for their children. A reception and art exhibition is held on the last Friday of camp. Campers who have already completed the Cruisers camp and mastered some basic skills will enjoy new opportunities to challenge themselves, expand their riding radius, and try out various riding terrains. Advanced Robotics with LEGO EV3-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
Using LEGOs New EV3 Space Challenge Set and Activity Pack, campers are introduced to robotics with a very current and real-world theme, traveling to and living on Mars! Campers will work as scientists and engineers as they progress through a set of lessons, challenges, and projects that fully integrate science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, while prompting creative problem solving, communication, and teamwork. Campers will learn the basics of gears to help them apply physical science and math principles to build effective robots. They will also progress through a series of missions in which they investigate, observe, calculate, and apply their knowledge to solve specific tasks. Our space engineers will conduct research as they explore, plan, and develop three fundamental challenges NASA engineers and scientists are working to solve: How to endure humans can survive in space; how humans can create energy in space; and how robots can help humans explore space. 678-294-9504

6th - 9th grade girls: Creative Writing - Saint Marys School
During this camp week, we will have daily practice in following a process which should result in several creative writings projects. Each of the students writing projects will be evaluated. A big part of a successful creative writing class is being able to both give and receive constructive criticism; therefore, participation will be encouraged. Phyllis Monroe is a lover of anything related to language arts: words, phrases, clauses, paragraphs, essays, and formal research. Having taught all age groups- elementary, middle, and high school- she knowa that each grade/student will have different writing abilities; however, all age groups should follow basic guidelines for good writing. Creative writing can be the most enjoyable genre because the focus is less on the mechanics of capitalization and punctuation and more on choosing interesting and unique word choices which represent individual writing styles. 9194244028.0
