CAMP CHEF - Ben Robertson Community Center
CAMP THEME: CARNIVAL COOKING & GAMES Playing with your food is the theme of this camp! Kids will take a hands-on approach to cooking. A different dish will be prepared each day. The camp involves food inspired art, cooking games, cupcake decorating, movies, table manners and more! All campers will receive their own chefs hat and recipe cards. Get ready for some cooking fun! Please be sure to indicate on your registration form if your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions. Supplies: Campers should bring a beverage and snack and plenty of water each day. Lunch will be provided daily in camp. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. We recommend a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. A First Look at First Grade (Part 1 Language Arts) - Old Trail School
Do you ever wonder what you can do to give your child a head start in reading and writing for first grade? Come to A First Look at First Grade for a basic introduction to first grade reading and writing skills. Campers will have a fun-filled week getting to know what its like to be a first grade reader and writer. Activities include: multi-sensory reading activities, writing workshop experiences, utilizing reading and writing iPad apps especially for first grade, an introduction to Friday premiers, and a look at OTS first grade edible education program. A first orchestral experience for students who have completed at least one year of string instruction. The focus is ensemble playing and more advanced string technique. Use your imagination to create fantastic and colorful projects. This combination class offers children a sampling of art projects using various media such as painting, watercolors, collage, and pastels. It is amazing what you can do when you explore your imagination. A variety of materials are used to create your many masterpieces – Many projects are built upon each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. With a pro youll learn basic 2D scrolling-style game development techniques, moving into the Blender Game Engine to learn a modern 3D environment and to start using current game programming theory & procedures. Youll develop a concept & design it into your own game using open-source tools and industry standards. Youll test out each others games for accuracy and degree of fun to play!
