One afternoon a week through spring, teens gather afterschool at Four Rock, our field site in Newbury, with Capt. Rob to witness the changing seasons. Campers will participate in: High Ropes Swimming Hiking Archery Crafts Teambuilding Leadership Activities Giants Ladder Slack Line Zip Line Climbing Wall Pamper Pole Offsite Rappelling/Climbing Day Trip 3 Night Backpacking Experience* Weekly Schedule: Monday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Tuesday 9:00 am through Friday at 12:00 noon Parent Program: Thursday 7:00 - 9:00 pm Catered lunch provided daily. All meals provided during overnight experience. Adventure Academy summer camp is open to children ages 7-14. We strive to ensure that each child leaves camp with long-lasting memories of adventure, discovery and friendship. We provide a safe environment in which to have new experiences, gain an appreciation for the outdoors and develop leadership skills and abilities. Our 10:1 camper to counselor ratio ensures a quality experience for each child. Adventure Academy takes place on Camp Mary Ortons 167 wooded acres, bordered by the Olentangy River. Our day camp activities include Horseback Riding, Games on Horseback, Horsemanship Grooming, saddling, Vaulting and more! Beginners are welcome! Horse day camp is for beginner riders as well as advanced riders. Lunch is included. What to wear: long pants, light color t-shirt and boots. We provide riding helmets. What to bring: Stretchable pants, sunscreen, swim socks, carrots (for the horses), snacks, drinks, and a bottle of water (frozen is best). Please put the camper?s names on all items. Parrie Haynes Ranch Your child will get to enjoy fishing, a nature walk, archery, arts and crafts, horse care, field games, and lunch out at Parrie Haynes Ranch. This trip is for students 8 years old and above. We will be departing BCYC no later than 9:00 am. Please have our child dropped off by 8:30 am in a red shirt and tennis shoes or hiking boots. Please no sandals or flip flops. Make sure they are wearing socks as well. Lunch will be included in this trip. It would be a good idea to send them with a small, light weight back pack/ bag with a water bottle and sunscreen to re-apply throughout the day.
