When the water gets low the Black is the place to be. Great playboating at Hole Brothers, and a great river running all weekend. Boaters of all skill levels are welcome. Friday: Evening: Sunset surf session at Hole Brothers. Drinks and food at Maggie's on the River. Saturday: Morning surf session followed by a river run Freestyle clinics will be available. Kids Camp Fundraiser Lunch - Burlington, KS
LWC will be serving chili, chicken & noodles, and baked potatoes at the museum's annual Kansas Day celebration. Various desserts will also be served. Proceeds will go towards sending students in grades 3-5 to camp this summer. LWC expects to send over 20 kids to camp this year. Young Archeologist - Goleta Presbyterian Church
Do you know how Geology, Archaeology & Paleontology are alike? Answer: They all involve digging in dirt to find answers about the past! In this camp, you will learn about fossils, dinosaurs, human history, artifacts, and Native American arrowheads, shells and pottery, rocks and minerals, and medicinal plants. Campers will have the time of their lives digging in dirt, painting with actual paint rock chunks from a quarry, and learning the secrets that our earth holds. Go on our archaeological dig, crack open a Geode, find dinosaur bones and other fossils, pan for gems & minerals, make sand painted medallions, and create your own real arrow. Week #6: August 1-5: Crystals, Caves & Dino-Might! In this week long camp, scientists will become geologists and paleontologists as we sift, sort and classify rocks, make rock models, compare the saturation rates and composition of different types of soil and make a yummy dirt dessert to take home. Well work with dirt-dwelling insects, learn about the rock cycle, make models of the earth and mix up a batch of quicksand. Scientists will work with geodes, discover how fossils were formed, take part in a mini excavation and more! Ages 5 - 10. 500$/week. Extended day is available until 6 pm for 10/hr. 7188328400.0
