Martin County Future Stars Camp - Don Law Golf Academy at Martin County
Future Stars Camp Future Stars Camp is a fun introduction to golf fundamentals such as stance, gripping, putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. They will also learn basic golf safety, rules, and etiquette -- all while having fun! The instruction will include game-based teaching methods to reinforce the fun side of golf. Work with different art media and learn how to create some art materials from scratch. Enhance drawing and painting skills by working on projects from observation. Discover and discuss masterworks. Experiment with many media choices and ideas from your imaginations. Projects include portraits, figures, sketching architecture and landscape outdoors, creating mini murals, collage, and 3-D multi media fabrications. Note: Includes a field trip to the Yale Art Gallery to view artwork and learn about several art media and techniques. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal. 2016 Baroody Kayak Touring and Fishing Camp - Alexandria
Join Virginia Outside for an introduction to kayaking and kayak fishing. Our staff will instruct you on safety, paddling, and general maneuvering of a sit-on-top kayak. As you learn throughout the week at various locations, we will incorporate fishing, sightseeing and touring while paddling on all types of water. From local lakes and rivers like Bull Run, Fountainhead, and tidal creeks of the Potomac. We will progress to days on lazy rivers that include the Shenandoah, Rappahannock, and Rapidan Rivers. A kayak is a great way to get close to nature and we expect to see bald eagles, ospreys, herons, deer and beaver. When we are fishing our catch will include large and smallmouth bass, catfish, sunfish, crappie, and maybe even the infamous snakehead. Prep players will gain court-confidence from an intensive physical study of the fundamentals of the game of basketball under the guidance of Boys Head Coach Todd Howard and his staff. Prep players will bring their game to a new level: from drills in dribbling to shooting, to games and strategy exercises, players will gain the keys to success on the court. Head Boys Basketball Coach Todd Howard has just completed his second season at Brebeuf.
