Let the magical world of words take your child to a different place each day. Fancy Nancy, Bonjour Butterfly leads the week with the construction of a club house and exploring the butterfly cycle. Tuesday will be inspired by Gingerbread Baby and the making of gingerbread ornaments. Eric Carle takes the lead on Wednesday as we read the Mixed-up Chameleon and mix primary colors for an art project. Mad Science: Advanced Robotics - Barrett Ranch Elementary
*NEW Robot for 2016* Great Scott! We need you to control our robots before they get the upper hand and take over the world! In this camp you will learn about robotic control and also program the amazing Parallax ?Scribbler 2? robot with its Graphical User Interface programming language. A series of increasing challenges are designed to earn you mastery of this sinister mechanical menace! If you are victorious and there is time you will employ light sensors and program flags to follow lines, avoid obstacles and navigate mazes. Get ready to fire up your skills of deductive reasoning and problem solving. By the end you?ll be convinced that you have a new super-power! Honors Pre-Calculus - Hopkins Campus
This course is open to Blake students who have successfully completed Honors Algebra II and who seek to enroll in AP Calculus AB after completing Honors Geometry; Blake students who have successfully completed Honors Algebra II and Honors Geometry and who seek to enroll in AP Calculus AB; Students from outside Blake who seek to complete the equivalent of a full-year Honors Pre-Calculus course during the summer. They must possess a strong foundation in algebra because the course contains advanced material and moves at a rapid pace; it is not recommended for remedial purposes. Before registering, Blake students must obtain their teachers permission to advance, as indicated by a signed Mathematics Acceleration Contract. Successful advancement requires a grade of B or higher on each of the comprehensive exams given during the summer course. This course emphasizes functions and their characteristics. Topics include: function notation and transformations; combinations and compositions of functions; linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions; and analytical trigonometry. In addition, sequences, series, parametric equations and limits are introduced in preparation for calculus. Video Game Design: Invader Defense—Shark Attack! - Discovery Montessori School
Watch out! Its a shark attack! In Invader Defense: Shark Attack, we will create our own version of an invader defense game that will allow us to protect a coral reef from hungry sharks. We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard and outline the rules of play for our game. Then we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming.
