Scratch Video Game Design Programming & 3D Design - Ethical Culture
Well build programs, games, and animations using Scratch: the drag-and-drop, color-coded, event driven programming block editor, and create some epic 3D structures using the latest computer-aided design software (CAD). Young makers will learn the fundamentals of programming with this fun introduction from the MIT Media Lab including if/then statements, loop structures, data variables, mathematical and Boolean operators. These skills will be applied to create games as we explore design concepts such as objective, aesthetic, and difficulty curves. Makers will also design 3D objects and structures in TinkerCAD and learn the fundamental skills industrial designers, architects, and engineers use to design everything from toys and phones to robots and cars. 212-712-6230

Flagler College Cheerleading Camp - Flagler College Gymnasium
The Flagler College Cheerleading Team is hosting their fifth camp for area elementary school children (grades K-5) interested in learning more about cheerleading and dance. When and where is the camp? Saturday, April 2nd, 2016; 8:00am - 5:00pm* Flagler College Gymnasium 12 Granada St. St. Augustine, Florida 32084 *Campers will put on a performance of their skills from 4:00 – 5:00pm. Please note this is not an overnight camp. How much is the camp? Pre-registration: $75 (registration via ACTIVE and payment via ACTIVE or check sent in to: Flagler College, Attn: Cheerleading, P.O. Box 1027 St. Augustine, FL 32085 by April 1st) Day-of registration: $100 Full payment is due for pre-registered and day-of registered campers on April 2nd, 2016 Who should attend the camp? Girls and boys, ages 5-12 years old (grades K - 5). What will campers learn? Spring Recess - Village Sports, Inc.
Vacation days are available from 9-4pm. When the kids do not have school, but the parents need to work or have errands to run, Village Sports will offer a fun, busy day for the kids. We will be skating, hiking, sledding, and playing a variety of sports! Extended Care 8-9am, and 4-6pm cost: $6 per day. Regular Camp Day Cost: $25 per day. Fairy Tales Through a Microscope - The Evergreen School
Fairy tales do not require fairies… interesting! In this class, students will be examining fairy tales. Where did the term fairy tales come from? When did fairy tales begin? Some fairy tales explored this week include The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Frog Prince. The original versions will read and discussed. We will take a look at todays childrens literature and how fairy tales have changed through the years… often in funny ways. We will explore different versions of tales from different cultures.
