Junior Staff (girls entering grades 11-12 or recent high school grad in Fall 2016 who have been an AIDE) - Huddart Park
JUNIOR STAFF (JULs and JALs) Girls entering 11th grade or older, but under 18 by the first day of camp. Please note that girls should register as Adult Staff member if 18 or older as of July 18, 2016. If you will not turn 18 until AFTER July 18, 2016, please register as Junior Staff. No camper fee is required for Junior Staff, but there is a fee of $30 for any Junior Staff member who is not currently a registered Girl Scout. - Must be entering grade 11 or higher - Has completed AIT training or equivalent* - Has been an AIDE for 2 years, plus 1 year as an LIT, or an AIDE for 3 years * If equivalent, would need to submit an application verifying training & experience working with children and accompanied by three references. Is there a future make up artist or movie director living in your house? If so, dont miss out on this action! Artists learn the science behind Hollywoods special effects. Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and model building. Artists will also learn various special effect make-up techniques working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists to simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood and old age. Secret Agent - Polygon Mission Grade 3 (Monday) - Janney Elementary School
American University student teachers are looking for enthusiastic third graders who like challenges, mysteries, and problem solving missions. As part of an American University research project, School of Education professors have partnered with Janney Elementary School to test enduring understanding in reading as well as in mathematics in third grade students. During the sessions, third grade students will participate alongside our friends Poly and Gon in enriching activities and games in which they will be challenged to think outside the box by practicing problem solving and pattern identification skills. All lessons, activities, and games will be created and directed by American University student teachers for Janney third graders.
