This is camp for those who want not just to have an experience, but to make an experience. We bring out the leadership skills in all our campers and help you create a unique week of camp. You will participate in all the Fowler has to offer and gain some of the skills that our staff has learned. If you are in 10th-12th grade, participation in LEAD also allows you to apply to come as a Student Working in Ministry (SWiM) and use your newly honed skills alongside of the Fowler staff. Students need to fill out a SWiM application which can be found on the Fowler website. Weeks will be assigned on a first come - first served basis. 518-631-6789

Bring lawn chairs to relax in. This will be our final Kids Gun Safety Class this season. Ages 5-17. We have found that this is a great learning experience for parents and children alike. We are working with the local law enforcement community to have officers, equipment and K9's available for demonstration. Children will be shooting .22 and 9mm pistols as well as .22 rifles. An instructor will be with the children to assist in holding. Please confirm in the discussion thread if you are coming. Donations of cash or ammo will be accepted at the registration table but are not mandatory for attendance. All donations go to future children's classes. The Story of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn (all roles in "Tom & Huck!" are open, and may be cast to actors of any age 3-18, any race, or any gender). Since 2007, Act-Out! has been providing Bay Ridge & the Greater Brooklyn Area with world-class acting instruction at very affordable prices. We have served students of all ages and levels of experience, from beginners to Broadway veterans. Led by NYS-Certified drama teacher and Award-winning actor John Stillwaggon (see below for brief biography), students learn physical and vocal preparation, improvisation, line memorization, stagecraft, action/obstacle work, as well as character and scene analysis. Sammy Slug Summer Camp, Session #8b, Half Day - Youth Programs
Sammy Slug Summer Camp is offered by the Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports (OPERS) for boys and girls entering 1st through 6th grades. Based at the East Field House, this camp is offered in one-week sessions June to August. There are half day and full day options, and pre-camp and post camp care is available. Throughout the week the 5 camp tenants which are Responsibility, Respect, Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Team Building are reinforced and integrated into the curriculum. Camp activities include a variety of sports such as basketball, tennis, frisbee, and soccer; outdoor recreation such as hiking and swimming; and other arts, crafts and outings to keep the campers engaged, active and creative. With a camper to staff ratio of 10:1, the camp focuses on creating a safe environment with a program designed, implemented, and staffed by experienced recreation professionals and UCSC students.
