Teen Bring a Friend Weekend - De Leon Springs, FL
For youngsters in grades 5 through 10. Campers are allowed to bring a friend of the same sex and approximate age if they so choose. This weekend program allows for interactions amongst peer groups and a learning experience for those campers without diabetes. Educational sessions relating to Teen Issues, School Issues and How To-Be-A Friend are lead by the pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, dietitians and mental health professionals. Networking and the support of their peers is critical to this age. Campers are also treated to activities such as a beach party, luau, casino night and land sports.

Lego® StoryStarter II 2:30 - Mt. Bethel Elementary
Story telling was never this much fun! Utilizing the LEGO® StoryStarter set we will introduce students to the basic structures of a well-composed story (making this class a great language arts tool). At the same time we will also introduce them to the world of technology as we show them how to animate their stories in their very own graphic storybook. They will build their LEGO® story scenes and (using photo capture and editing tools) bring the story to life in print. We will create multiple storybooks in this class and each student will receive a DVD containing printable versions of all their creations to take home. In StoryStarter II we will have the same great fun but with all new story types and plots! Wild Edible Plants Series Session 1 - Jaycees Pavilion
Learn to identify, harvest and prepare wild edible foods. We will go out into the blufflands of southeastern Minnesota and forage for some of the first wild foods after the snow lifts. We will also cover safety and ethical concerns that accompany foraging wild foods.
