Week 5 AM - Fishing - NESS
Summer is the best time of year for fishing, but you need the knowledge of fish habits to help narrow down the best fishing areas by boat and from shore. Open to both experienced and new anglers. Learn the basics of a variety of styles of fishing including rod and reel trolling, bottom fishing, fly fishing, clamming and lobster fishing. Students will also learn about tying knots, baiting hooks, cleaning gear, and practicing fishing safety. Become more aware of local fisheries and fishing impacts. We practice catch and release only. Students should bring their own fishing rods and tackle ready for use. Some NESS rods are available and bait will be provided, please call to inquire. 860-535-9362

Full-Day Newcomer Camp - Stanford University
The Full-Day Newcomer Camp is for those who want to spend a full-day with the Stanford Coaching Staff and college players learning the game of golf! The philosophy of the Newcomer Golf Camp is to introduce the game of golf to juniors aged between 5 and 12 with either no experience or a couple of years of instruction. Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. Instruction will be given at a pace intended to maintain the attention of campers and at the same time be appropriate for each individuals skill level. Active and energetic instructors will lead the youngsters through a series of games and exercises that will develop confidence and passion for the game. Groups will be organized by current skill level. The camp environment is designed to allow participants to meet other young golfers and help foster an enthusiasm and passion for the game. Our morning program lasts from 9am to 12pm, and includes programs for Jellyfish (ages 4-5), Rockfish (ages 6-8) and Blue Crabs (ages 9-12). The morning session typically consists of three 45-60 minute activities that will be exciting and engaging for your children. During each of these time slots we endeavor to provide options for your child, enabling them to do what they like most and empowering them to have the most fun with their day.
