Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoy summer camps as well as anyone else does. My 10 year old son is intellectually delayed. He looks forward to this camp every summer. In fact, he keeps asking us how many days until camp? He likes to swim, make crafts, sing and learn new skills at summer camp. Our annual Kid's Fishing Derby will be on Saturday. We are always looking for great volunteers to help during the derby along with donations. If you have any donations, please drop them off at the Rec Center or Office. We truly appreciate it and so do the kids.

Arizona Parenting Magazine is hosting their annual Camp and Summer Expo at Desert Ridge Marketplace. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet with local STEM camps, performing arts, sports or overnight camp and make your summer plans. Kids will be able to enjoy and participate in a variety of camp experiences, such as: archery, zip lining, rock climbing, Euro bungee, tie dye t-shirts and much more. Whatever type of camp experience your child is looking for, this will be the place to find it.

Basketball Boys 7th - 9th - SCDS
Hornet basketball camp will place an emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball. Campers will be evaluated and grouped with players of the same age and abilities. Camp will consist of fundamental stations, 3 on 3, 5 on 5 games, hot shot, free throw and 1 on 1 competition. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork and sportsmanship. Our goal is to provide a foundation for your sons future success in basketball while having fun. Location: Demere, Saunders, Old Gym 912-961-8859
#45 Water Week (Boys Gr. 7-12) • $425 - Camp Fowler
We tip our hats to the old Aquatics Week that some old timers remember. But retro is not what we are going for. This week all of our campers will have a chance to sail, canoe, kayak, and PADDLEBOARD. Join us as we discover with you the joys yet another self-propelled water sport. Paddleboard the outlet stream, sail a great Adirondack Lake, kayak a great river, and learn from the sport that started it all: canoeing! We will be on the water all week, so be prepared to start right away on Sunday. 518-631-6789
"Meet Spot" Week 6 - Animal Training Adventure Center
This session is for young campers age 7 who love puppies and dogs, or young campers who need to overcome a fear of dogs. Campers will be introduced to basic responsibilities of pet ownership and the needs of a canine companion by working with rescue puppies and dogs. Campers will engage in play and structured games involving puppies and dogs that teach dog handling skills, dog safety, and promote having fun with a dog. This session will also include animal-themed family movies, animal-themed arts and craft projects, and homemade dog treats prepared by campers. Session fee includes a t-shirt and all activities and materials. You will need to pack your campers lunch daily. 850-294-1964
Week 6 (Grades 4 - 8) - Cal State East Bay
The week long day camp offers a wide variety of sports and activities for campers to participate in. Activities included are: basketball, swimming, soccer, volleyball, tennis, ping pong, kick ball, arts and crafts, and others. All activities take place on the beautiful Hayward campus of Cal State East Bay. A daily lunch is provided and if there are any dietary needs just let us know and we can accommodate your camper. The only equipment that your camper will need to bring are: swim suit, towel, goggles (if preferred), snacks, and shoes to be active in (sandals are highly discouraged). ConstructionKids brings the fun and satisfaction of hands-on building to Avenues. Every child learns how to safely use several different tools and materials each week on projects including model cities, custom skateboards, life-size skeletons and handmade toys. Sessions are fun, challenging and creative; we even take apart household appliances! Campers learn how to design, build and repair their projects. For more information, go to /.
