Upper West Side - The Mandell Pre School
My Grown Up and Me classes offer age appropriate activities that help infants develop brain capacity, skills and abilities with the use of developmental toys and didactic activities. In addition, there is an emphasis on building gross and fine motor skills. Classes are based on child development expert and author Edith Peisachs Baby Stars Methodology. Boating: Basic Sailing Camp - Lake Merritt Boating Center
Piedmont Recreation is proud to partner with the City of Oakland Lake Merritt Boating Center. Piedmont Recreation offers transportation to and from these camps. The Basic Sailing Camp requires a swim evaluation that can be arranged through the Piedmont Community Pool at (510) 655-5163. SWIM EVALUATION IS REQUIRED. This entry level sailing class will definitely give kids a chance to get their "sea legs". The campers start off learning the parts of the sailboat and by weeks end theyll understand wind direction as it relates to propelling, and more importantly, controlling their sailboat. Games and drills on the water help to teach these basic skills. No experience is needed. If your child does not have a swim evaluation verification on file, a swim evaluation will have to be completed before the first day of camp. Sea Perch Robotics - Middle School
This exciting new offering will coordinate with the Webb Institute. Located in Glen Cove, the Webb Institute is a private engineering college, offering a dual major in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Participants in the Sea Perch Program will build an underwater robot. The completed the robots will then be brought to Webb Institute for a day of in-water testing and head-to-head competitions that determine how well the robots were constructed and how well the human operators can control their custom-built submersible seacraft. Martin County Future Stars Camp - Don Law Golf Academy at Martin County
Future Stars Camp Future Stars Camp is a fun introduction to golf fundamentals such as stance, gripping, putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. They will also learn basic golf safety, rules, and etiquette -- all while having fun! The instruction will include game-based teaching methods to reinforce the fun side of golf.
