R 8 Commanding Minecraft - Catch Air SS
Intro to Game and Level Design. Students will learn the basics of game and level design using Command Blocks in Minecraft! They will create their own adventure map and game in Minecraft. Great introduction to game design without having to learn a programming language. 770-455-1980

Counselors-In-Training - Wk. 7 (FD) - F. H. Hammond Elementary School
Teens, ages 12-14, get the opportunity to gain valuable experience and have alot of fun as a CIT. This camp will teach them how to be great future camp counselors through planning, team building, teaching and supervision. Upon aging out of this camp, does not mean you can apply for a camp counselor. You must be 18. Each week a parent letter and itinerary will be compiled for you to take which will list all activities/trips for that week. These will be available on the sign-in table each week. All camp activities will be held between 9AM-4PM. Parents are able to drop their child(ren) off between 7AM-9AM and pick them up between 4PM-6PM. All scheduled activities and trips will take place during the 9AM-4PM time frame. Early drop-off/pick-up will be designated for free time, smaller organized games and/or board games. Full-day campers should pack a lunch, 2 snacks and plenty of water. Half-day campers should pack a snack and plenty of water. All campers should have their own sunscreen and wear gym shoes. Sports Camp week 5- Basketball (ages 5-12) - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of basketball camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport including dribbling, passing (chest passes, bounce passes, and overhead passes), shooting (jump shots and full shots), and man to man defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of basketball camp will focus on the basic rules such as traveling, double dribble, charging and blocking, as well as the duties of each position. Additionally modified games of basketball and cooperative games such as knock out, PIG, around the world and 21 will be played during the last hour. As the skills of each child advances, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations and a mini tournament based upon age group. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! Robotics Camp with Mr. McCarter - Sycamore School
Sycamore science teacher Mr. McCarter has a long and successful history of coaching students in both the Vex and Lego robotics competitions. The competitions are great motivators, but the true value is the hands on learning that happens when students engage with robots. This camp is designed to do exactly that.
