This years Father/Son campers will be treated to instruction from the Winthrop coaches, staff, along with current and former Winthrop players through detailed skill work and competitions in the best facilities in college basketball. Father and son teams compete with fellow campers of appropriate age groups (based on sons age/grade level) in competitions that incorporate skills learned throughout the camp. The skill work is designed to give both father and son drills and techniques to take home and continue working together. The full day option lasts from 9 am to 4 pm and is available for the Rockfish and Blue crabs age groups only (ages 6-12). Activities throughout the day are structured around three main themes including: OUTDOORS (e.g., nature hikes, sailing, water sports, swim skills, kayaking, survival skills), ARTS (e.g., crafts, indian art, tie dyes) and GAMES (e.g., tennis, basketball, dodgeball, beach challenges). The activities will be led by our energized college-age counselors or Program Directors. In the morning, we will offer options for your child, enabling them to do what they like most and empowering them to have the most fun with their day. From 12 to 1:30, we will have lunch and a series of activities that children can choose from to relax and take a breather during what is typically the hottest time of the day. Options include Legos, indoor board games, or free swim time. LUNCH IS PROVIDED every day and will include a fruit or vegetable with every meal. If your child has dietary restrictions, you will need to provide his/her lunch.
