Little Stars - Musical Theatre - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp is an introduction to musicals that allows campers to experience what its like to tell a story through music. We will tell stories through original songs based on common fairytales with each child getting an opportunity to have lines, sing, and dance. Campers will play fun theatre games that will help them get more comfortable in social situations through using their imagination and creativity. These young performers will get the unique experience of being able to perform on a stage. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. He is happy to have been given the position of Summer Camp Director this year and hopes to make a positive educational experience for all summer camp students. 7036835778 x2

Sense of Place - Dirksen Nature Park
Campers will touch, taste, smell, listen, and look their way to a deeper understanding of what keeps an ecosystem in balance. Discover the homes of wildlife living at Dirksen Nature Park and learn how to protect this special urban habitat. Build a natural shelter, explore aquatic homes, create your own bird nest, and have fun while developing new friendships. All camps hosted at Dirksen also include a full day of paddling on the Tualatin River with experienced river guides. Jr Robotics - 1/2 Day - Bricks
Our 1/2 day Jr Robotics class is the best of the Explorer camp but with shorter days for those that dont want a full day camp. If your young children dream of creating and inventing with LEGOs and technology then this is the camp for them! Just like our popular after school courses, campers will use the LEGO® WeDo® system to learn how simple machines work with programmable motors and sensors. THE CHALLENGES ARE ALL NEW AND JUST FOR SUMMER CAMPERS! Learn exciting and new ways to use pulleys, levers and gears to build and program ALL NEW machines! Thats So Funny with Terry Maguire - The Philadelphia School
Did you ever think, What makes people laugh? What makes you laugh? We will spend a week laughing at comedy throughout the ages and create our own! By watching comedy in many forms, such as cartoons, sit-coms, improv, standup, and movies, we will laugh and learn about the universal truth of comedy and how it has evolved over time and by culture. We will also read funny stories, jokes, and essays, and we will grow as writers by writing our own comedy sketches, stories, jokes, and short films. We will also practice improv. The week will conclude with a comedy performance of the work we will create. Be ready to laugh, think, and push yourself not just to be a funnier person but also to become a comedy expert. The Mad Scientist - Da Vinci Science Center
The Mad Scientist - $150 (July 11 – July 15) Young mad scientists in training will explore a different science every day! Well experiment as chemists and explore reactions and explosions, tinker with electricity and magnetism as electrical engineers, and examine living things as biologists!
