Our goal for the campaign is to show the city, TriMet, our schools, and our community that affordable public transportation is important for youth to lead healthy lives, be able to thrive, and be successful. The youth-led event will officially launch our campaign and engage with community members and decision makers, especially in East Portland neighborhoods. There will be educational booths about transit justice, powerful youth testimonies, and cool performances! YouthPass to the Future Campaign: We want all high school students in Portland to be able to go to school and access opportunities that prepare them for success. Transit is an educational right! Let's permanently fund YouthPass and expand it to Parkrose and David Douglas High Schools! Free food. Guest speakers. Youth Stories. Performances.

In this 8-week introductory course, students will gain a fundamental understanding of the high-level, open source computer programming language that is responsible for websites including Google, YouTube, Dropbox, and SurveyMonkey, and is known for its ease of use. Ocean Explorers (Week 7 AM) - Buccaneer Biology - NESS
Interrogate the science behind the life of a pirate. Consider sediment densities to determine optimal treasure burial, coastal changes to maximize hiding areas, experiment with eye dominance to determine eye patch orientation, design a boat to withstand the high seas, and test biological make-up of items for high Vitamin C levels to prevent scurvy. Take a short sailing trip on a 23 foot Sonar to look into wind generation for guaranteed quick getaways. Includes: Sailing, boat trips, & snorkel adventures 860-535-9362

Use hands-on experiences and inquiry based learning to answer these questions: How does water change from a solid to a liquid to a gas? Where (and when) can we see these changes in nature? Speed: Runners, on your mark… Go! Sprint your way into new running technique that will improve speed. Join the Track Club to learn speed drills and footwork fundamentals with track equipment. This camp will teach kids to enjoy competition. Our campers will participate in games and kid-friendly contests of some of the drills. Distance: Pace yourself from start to finish. Children will remain lifelong runners with the right shoes and the right distance. Running longer and farther is one of the best ways to keep our campers active. Come form happy hearts and lungs with us by building endurance, stamina, and strength. Jumping: Blast off to test your flying skills! Get off the ground with long jumps, high jumps, triple long jump, and much more. Learn simple techniques that will make a huge difference in jumping performance from the runway into the sand pit. Throwing: You have the power! Test your Strength. Throwing is a fun way to improve upper and lower body strength.
