The children will be introduced to the basic elements of music through singing and movement in a fun and creative way. The class activities will include singing, listening, coloring to music, movement, fun musical games and improvisation, and exploring Orff instruments and learning about rhythm, tempo, measure and notes. Week 4 Monte Vista Horsemanship Camp - Monte Vista Christian School
Monte Vista Horsemanship Camp provides an amazing opportunity for boys and girls to spend a week riding horses, making friends, and experiencing beautiful natural surroundings at the campus of Monte Vista Christian School. Located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains on the Monterey Bay, we offer structured riding lessons in the morning and afternoon for beginners through advanced riders looking to prepare for competition. Trail rides, mounted games and grooming lessons round out the campers Equestrian education for the week, and they will demonstrate their new skills for friends and family members at our Camp Horse Show on Saturday. Every afternoon, the campers have an opportunity to swim at the school pool and enjoy the hot tub before showering and then its off to dinner! Overnight campers stay in our comfortable cabins and will play games and eat smores around the nightly campfires. Our meals are provided by Epicurean Cafe and the food is fabulous! Mandarin - Little Dragons (Level 1) - Germantown Friends School
The objective of this club is to initiate what we hope will be a lifelong interest in a culture that is becoming an increasingly important player on the world stage. The program follows the My First Chinese Words curriculum, which offers an introduction to such key vocabulary as numbers, colors, body parts and animal names. Students will read supplementary Chinese storybooks, watch DVDs about Martial Arts and create arts and crafts related to Chinese holidays and traditions. Our bilingual, bicultural instructor, Wei Chen, is deeply committed to teaching Mandarin to children and to igniting their curiosity about foreign cultures.
