Learn to turn your own baseball bat. Students will learn the basics of wood spindle turning. Learn safe shop practices and procedures that will make woodturning safe and fun. Students will take home a baseball bat. Students will walk away with a basic understanding of how to operate and maintain a wood lathe and wood turning tools. Students will be allowed open studio time on Sundays during the week of class. On this day, students are welcome to come to the shop and use the tools to catch up and refine the classroom project. Capoeira Kid's Summer Camp - South Jordan, UT
Capoeira Kids Camp Kids! Join Capoeira Utah this July for fun, fitness, and a fantastic cultural experience at Capoeira Kids Camp. Capoeira is a unique Brazilian martial art that combines kicks and dodges with acrobatics and dance like movements all performed to live music! Camp takes place from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday & Thursday, July 5 & 7, and July 12 & 14. Each day we'll do special capoeira training in levels for both beginners and experienced students as well as: Portuguese language Singing and Playing Instruments Acrobatics training Crafts (make your own maculele costume and sticks, wooden machete, and/or feathered samba headress) Traditional dances: Samba, maculele, a capoeira choreography and more! Teen Times M-F Session 1 - Prairie View Community Center
A summer at Teen Times camp is filled with activities such as sports, swimming, crafts and fun! Teens will take an active role in planning their daily schedules. Field trips will be twice a week (usually Wednesdays and Fridays). We will be swimming at the pool two afternoons a week so campers should bring a swimsuit, towel and lunch daily, unless otherwise noted. GRADES 6th - 8th LOCATION Activity Room

Acting Out: Comedy Vs. Drama - Swanson Middle School
Have a blast acting out on the stage! Campers will gain and strengthen tools for creating characters, stories, and wacky scenarios for the stage. Pick your session or take them all, as each week offers a new creative path for campers to explore. Character development, playwriting, improvisation, ensemble work and overall confidence are just some of the skills campers will master! Tuesday - Knitting - HoLa Lower School
This class begins with essential lessons for to empower new knitters. Lessons will include choosing supplies, reading instructions, casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off. Using these basic techniques, participants will learn how to create different knitting patterns using the knit and purl techniques, including seed stitch, ribbing, stockinette, and garter.
